A119MKII FLIGHT TRANSITION COURSE (No Simulator Use)

Course Approval: Factory Approved - FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS) Approved

Prerequisites: The Applicant pilot must have:
  • Good knowledge of the English language. Both written and spoken
  • A valid and current medical certificate or equivalent certificate issued by a regulatory agency.
  • A valid Pilot Certificate or equivalent certificate issued by a regulatory agency
Course Objectives: To provide qualified helicopter pilots with the theoretical knowledge and practical skill required to operate the AW119 model. Emphasis is placed on system integration throughout the full flight envelope and to respond safely to emergency situations and malfunctions.

Course Duration: 2 weeks (approximately)

Course Ground Instructional Hours: 30 hours (1 week)

Flight Training: Includes:
  • up 6 hours on the helicopter
Course Content: The Ground Training (Classroom) includes a comprehensive coverage of the Rotorcraft Flight Manual. Training will hold and emphasis on aircraft systems (Hydraulics, Electrical, SAS and standard avionics) their description, applicability and operation. In-depth theoretical explanation of aircraft operating characteristics, limitations and performance data and charts.
The Flight Training (Helicopter) includes complete familiarization of the AW119; flight instruction in normal flight maneuvers and full coverage of emergency procedures.

The Flight Training also includes Briefing & Debriefing sessions before and after each sortie.
Flight training will be conducted under the approved FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS) program.
