AW139 TYPE RATING (No Simulator Use)

Prerequisites:
The Applicant pilot must have:
  • Good knowledge of the English language. Both written and spoken
  • A valid and current medical certificate or equivalent certificate issued by a regulatory agency
  • A valid Pilot Certificate Rotorcraft/Helicopter or equivalent certificate issued by a regulatory agency
  • Must hold a Rotorcraft/Helicopter Instrument Rating
Course Objectives: To provide qualified helicopter pilots with the theoretical knowledge and practical skill required to operate the AW139 model and all its systems throughout the full flight envelope and to respond safely to emergency situations and malfunctions under VFR and IFR conditions

Course Duration: 3-4 weeks (approximately) depending on IFR flight training

Course Ground Instructional Hours: 60 hours (2 weeks)

Flight Training: Includes:
  • 10 Hours on the Helicopter
  • 1 hour VFR Skill Test and 1 hour IFR Skill Test on the helicopter
Course Content: The Ground Training (Classroom) includes a comprehensive coverage of the Rotorcraft Flight Manual. Training will hold and emphasis on aircraft systems (Hydraulics, Electrical, and standard avionics) their description, applicability and operation. In-depth theoretical explanation of aircraft operating characteristics, limitations and performance data and charts.
The Flight Training (Helicopter) includes complete familiarization of the AW139 model; flight instruction in normal flight maneuvers and full coverage of emergency procedures (both in VFR and IFR conditions).

Flight Training also includes Briefing & Debriefing sessions before and after each sortie.
*Additional flight time may be required and is at the discretion of the instructor.
