Partnerships

AgustaWestland is actively participating in a number of joint ventures and collaborative programmes with major European and American aerospace and defence companies as well as partnerships with other firms worldwide. This co-operations network has contributed to expand products range and increase market share and opportunities.

Joint ventures intended to development and production include NATO Helicopter Industries (NHI) for the NH90. Jiangxi Change Agusta Helicopter (CAH) with AVIC II is aimed at licensed production, sale and support for the AW109 Power in the Chinese civil market while LIATEC (Libyan Italian Advanced Technology Company), owned by Libyan Company for Aviation Industry, Finmeccanica and AgustaWestland, is based on training and technology provision purposes to Libya expected to be expanded to maintenance, assembly and sales in the future.
 
Co-operations involve Boeing for license production for the UK’s Apache AH Mk.1 and for the CH-47F, Kawasaki Heavy Industries for the Japanese AW101 production, Denel for the AW109 LUH, AW109 Power and AW119 Ke licensed production and marketing and TAI for the T129 combat helicopter programme dedicated to the Turkish Land Forces Command. Moreover, TAI itself and PZL-Swidnik manufacture various helicopter types fuselages. Furthermore, AgustaWestland and Russian company Oboronprom have signed an agreement to set up an industrial Joint Venture to establish a final assembly of the AgustaWestland AW139 civil helicopter in Russia. AgustaWestland also signed a Shareholder’s Agreement with Tata Sons for the formation of an Indian joint venture company which will establish a final assembly line for the AW119 helicopter in India.
