Training Solutions
In addition to our traditional rotary wing training portfolio AgustaWestland provides training solutions across a broad customer base, with a wide range of successful applications.
AgustaWestland prides itself in working with customers and operators to design and develop training solutions targeted specifically at the operational need, including the implementation of integrated courses, systems and services. By combining our skills in the following key areas, we are able to provide solutions for all types of training application:
- Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- Course design and development
- Training systems design and development
- Delivery
- Training Management Information Systems
- Through life support
- Distance Learning

AgustaWestland classroom environments integrate all the required types of multimedia into a flexible and modular desk arrangement, arranged to enhance learning and supported by a dedicated instructor station. The student desks include stow-able flat screens so that the full desk can be used for instructor led exercises. The approach has proven highly successful on major programmes including the Apache AH Mk1 through life training (provided by Aviation Training International Ltd) and the UK BOWMAN radio system, with multiple user scenario activities delivered across Local Area Networks to enable students to participate in joint exercises.
These multimedia solutions are complemented by the design and development of Training System solutions such as part task trainers, procedures trainers and flight training devices. These are highly effective devices that free the prime equipment and higher cost training devices such as full flight simulator from routine or procedural training tasks.
Distance learning is currently available to support basic training and is being expanded across the AgustaWestland training portfolio. AgustaWestland distance learning effectively brings the classroom to the student, via the web, using multi-media supported by experienced instructors available on-line, but based in our Training Academies.
Examples of our integrated training services, multimedia solutions and associated devices can be found in service around the world supporting the operational effectiveness of both military and civilian customers. This includes:
