Meeting Market Demands through Strategic Alliances
AgustaWestland is involved in some of Europe’s most significant training programmes as a major supplier or in partnership with major international organisations:
- We are the training and logistic support provider to General Dynamics (UK) Ltd for the UK MoD’s BOWMAN programme. The training solution optimises the use of webcentric courseware, equipment emulations and the BOWMAN common operating environment.
- In 1998 we joined forces with Boeing to form Aviation Training International Limited (ATIL). This joint venture company was awarded the Apache Helicopter Training Service Contract which provides a complete training systems package (including infrastructure) for the UK Army. “Pay-asyou-use” training is supplied to the UK government under a PFI scheme.
- We are working with CAE of Canada to extend the capability and range of our helicopter training services. This includes the development of a simulation training capability in Italy operating under the name ROTORSIM.
- We have developed, with industrial partners Saab, MMOC and Inter-Coastal Electronics, the role fit platform equipment and associated ground based equipment used in the delivery of Collective Training Systems.
- Through life training solutions, including PFI (Private Finance Initiative) and other innovative training service solutions
- We are a member of HORIZON, the marketing partner of the UK Royal Air Force. We offer general courses for aircraft engineers, operators, and a wide range of specialist courses. These cover topics from catering and healthcare to security and industrial processes.
