AgustaWestland has considerable experience in training rotary wing personnel from a variety of backgrounds and with different entry level qualifications. Our comprehensive training solutions are delivered to recognised international standards and include:

Our training centres are equipped with modern training aids CBT, CAI and technical mock-ups whilst our training personnel are highly qualified and experienced in the specialised field of helicopter aeronautics.

All course text is produced as official manufacturer’s publications, with student notebooks designed to increase student level comprehension and knowledge retention.

The flying school in Italy operates a variety of helicopter types and provides courses run by professional instructor pilots. This ranges from:
  • JAR FCL approved VFR and IFR basic type rating;
  • The highest standard of operational training required by the most modern helicopters on the market.


Training is carried out using AgustaWestland and/or customer owned aircraft. Similar courses can be arranged in the UK if required.

Technical courses range from basic training for unskilled personnel to specialised training for skilled personnel. They are tailored to suit specific customer requirements. AgustaWestland programmes include:
  • JAR-147/JAR-66 approved courses for basic maintenance of turbine helicopters and type maintenance courses for certain AgustaWestland helicopters.
  • Manufacturer approved courses for specific engines from Allison, Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, and Rolls Royce.
Courses are generally conducted in English or Italian with translation facilities available to other languages.
